Our History

In 2001, two unemployed teachers, Nomawethu Virginia Nojilana and Eunice Dumakazi Senoamali took a group of learners who were not attending school in Tulbagh due to school language categorization and taught them in a shack which belonged to the Apostolic Holly Church Of Zion.

In 2002 these learners were taken away from this Church and were hosted in WF Loots Primary School, and Nokuxolisa Mvimbi became the third teacher. They stayed in WF Loots until 2016.

In 2010 community leaders worked hard to initiate the built of a school adjacent to Chris Hani Settlement in Tulbagh. In this work, Mr. M.B. Nyani wrote two letters to authorities. The first letter was written to the Western Cape Education Department requesting a school; while the second letter was addressed to the Witzenberg Municipality requesting land to build a school. This gave rise to a massive project which was initially known as Tulbagh Primary, and later named Lingomso Primary School.

In 2017 Lingomso Primary School was opened, and by then there were around 200 learners. During its opening the school was led by a seasoned Caretaker Principal, Mr. Collin Moses, until the first permanently appointed Principal, Mr. Adon Gasela Mphunga was given his marching orders to lead the school to its envisioned destiny.
